The story of Joseph is evidence that many biblical characters are far from heroes. But God uses what Joseph's brothers intended as evil for good.
How can God be good with all the suffering that exists in the world? Sean looks at the passage in Genesis where Jacob wrestles with God. Like Jacob, God can often feel more like an adversary.
A common message in the church is that God gets you in but it's your job to stay in. But God gets you in, and he keeps you in. He holds onto us completely without fail. Nothing will be able to separate us from Jesus Christ our Lord.
In Romans 8, Jesus delcares us adopted by God. If we are sons and daugthers, then we are no longer slaves. We are loved without strings attached.
